Excellent application. Loads of tutorials and exemples; clean graphics. A bit expensive, but it worths it.
Please can updating with multiplaying on line......thx
Do not update to 3.1.1 version. It is difficult to play because the last pieces are not numbered anymore(even if we check this setting). So impossible to see the last piece. For a piece of software extremelly expensive is not really acceptable.
This is just the best application for every go player on the iPad. A lot of features with a huge game data base, a nice go bot and a selection of problems. The author has introduced a much appreciated tree view which uses tree compression, a very good idea for implementing variation views without cluttering the screen. The last versions now comes with the complete GoGoD database (more than 80000 pro games in 2014). Excellent. Just excellent. This i, with go books from the same developer my favorite app for go training.
...the icon was so simple and nice and now it is somehow ruined. The magnifier doesnt look good there. But again: The stuff that really matters - the game itself - is very well done and presented.
When viewing annotated games, youre able to make additional moves which are then automatically saved OVER the actual gamefile. I think the only way to reset those games may be to uninstall and reinstall. VERY annoying. This needs to change, especially considering how expensive this app is.
I love all this games functions but I wish there was an online-play! Would make it much more interesting. Thank you!
Excellent program for Improving but is not really great on an iPad or iPad mini For example: *Menu on the left literally eats up a quarter of the screen. *Button for advancing moves is still tiny in comparison. *No resizing of board or menus Obviously this works great on a laptop or desktop where the screen is much larger and a mouse to click the tiny buttons is fine. But try this on an iPad mini... All in all pretty good except the decoupled fixes everything but issues that users bring up.
It seems expensive, but actually it is a steal. It would cost you so much more to buy problems books separately to reach the same number you have in the app. After, you have the annotated games that would also cost a lot if you were to buy the book version of them. If you are even a little bit serious about Go, you must invest in this app.
After days of thinking, I finally bought the smartgo kifu today. Im very pleased with the graphics but there is no sound! Please fix this problem ASAP.
Fantastic
Although the app is great this update crashes when you launch the game with computer.
Greatest Go app, but very unstable version. It takes the app hours to make the first move on a small board.
It has everything a Go player may want. Very useful and easy to use.
Great. You wont have any complaints.
In my past, I was an absolutely horrid player, I tried to play with friends at the fabled "Last Exit" coffeehouse in Seattle in the early to mid 1970s. I have always loved the game, Ive just never been any good at it! I love this app because I can watch ancient games from master, such as Honimbo and others, see patterns that form, how games progress and much more! Still a real crappy player but I really love this application!
If you love Go this app is a must have!
While Im only a club level player (5k), Ive begun taking the game more seriously. Since I play on KGS, I typically use cgoban3 to review my SGF games locally, make edits, etc. Since KGS doesnt have an iPhone app, I have been using my IGS/Pandanet account. I wanted a way to review these games on my phone, and this was the literally the only app available in AppStore that offered this functionality. I decided to take a chance and spend the $20. Im not at all disappointed; clearly a lot of work went into this app, and it does everything I hoped as well as having some extras that are nice..... such as tsumego, annotated games, and an impressive library of pro games. If you play go seriously -- or even casually, but with the hope of getting better -- this is an awesome study tool for your mobile device. The ONLY thing I wish it had is a score estimator. It guesses territory, but not score. Still, its a great app, and in English rather than Japanese. Thanks guys.
19 bucks may sound pricey but once you own it, you know this app worths way more than 19 bucks. Not only you can play go, also it teaches you with thousands of problems. Must own if you lobe go and wants to improve your skill
